HOW IT WORKS | Eco Film, Patented Biodegradable Film
Eco Film™ is a DIN V 54 900 and BPI certified 100% biodegradable and compostable film designed to replace nondegradable as well as starch and polyethylene-based films. Unlike standard starch based technology, Eco Film™ is heat and water stable and does not disintegrate or break apart while in use, making Eco Film™ ideally suited for community recycling, food packaging and composting programs that involve food and yard waste. Once discarded in soil or compost, Eco Film™ will decompose 100% into carbon dioxide and water within weeks. Eco Film™ will not devalue or contaminate compost, unlike polyethylene blends.

Eco Film™ has no adverse effects on human health or plant life, certified under RAL GZ251, DIN V 54 900, DIN 38412 Part 30 and the “Daphnia Test”, while offering physical properties superior to typical LDPE products. Eco Film™ is available in a variety of sizes and forms, allowing Eco Film™ to offer an environmentally friendly alternative for applications ranging from grocery bags to export shipping.

SHELF LIFE

For shipping and storage applications, Eco Film™ is a great alternative to conventional polyethylene films. Eco Film™ has a shelf life of up to two years, when sealed in original packaging. Once removed and put to use, Eco Film™ will remain effective with regard to mechanical strength until film is placed in contact with material containing microorganisms, such as certain types of waste, soil, and compost. Under these conditions, 100% disintegration will occur within a few weeks with no residual contamination of the soil.
